The Forgotten Jesus
The Forgotten Jesus
Robby Gallaty
Zondervan Books
Did you know Jesus was Jewish? Well, of course you did right? Well, I think sometimes we forget that Jesus is not an Anglo Saxon preacher who lived in a Western Culture. He was an Eastern Rabbi who lived among the Jewish people. The way he taught, spoke and lived is completely different than how most of western Christians have been taught. In his book, THE FORGOTTEN JESUS: How Western Christians Should Follow an Eastern Rabbi, Gallaty takes us on a journey to discover the Jesus that many of us are not familiar with. Robby Gallaty does a fantastic job at writing a book that is thought-provoking, eye-opening and readable. He tackles topics like "Uncovering Jesus in the Old Testament", "A Jewish Rabbi and the Coming Kingdom", and connecting the New Testament to the Old Testament.
Overall, THE FORGOTTEN JESUS has been a very encouraging and faith enhancing book for me. It really takes the reader to places where very few have gone, as we read about the history and culture that Jesus lived in and ultimately how it can help us know God's Word and Jesus more intimately.
