LESS THAN ONE MONTH
May 19th, 2018
We are less than one month away from our three week short-term missions trip to the Philippines. I am excited, nervous and anxious to see what God does and what He reveals to us.
The tickets are purchased, and passports received. We will be leaving for Iloilo on June 12th and returning back to Florida on July 5th. There is much that needs to be done as we make the final preparations to go, so first we ask for your prayers. Secondly, we are looking for specific personal hygiene items, tents, comforts from home and other items to bring to the Divinagracias. If you would like to know more specifically what it is they need then please talk to Carrie or me as we are in continual contact with them. The Sam and Amy have reported that there will be plenty of work to do as we will help them start the construction of their Hostel in the mountains (we will be living in tents for a few days), doing medical missions work and working with the ATI village among other things.
We are continuing to fundraise money that will be used for one last flight we will book in country in the Philippines, day to day expenses and mission work expenses. If you feel led to support us in any way you can make a donation at the link below or you can email from the contact link from the menu above and I can send you our address. We praise God for this incredible blessing and privilege.

THE HOLTONS ARE GOING TO THE PHILIPPINES!
At the end of 2016 our family started to feel a stirring by God to serve in the mission field in the Philippines. We then took the next several months to pray about this calling.
In August of 2015 when our family moved to Florida God immediately connected our family to Sam and Amy Divinagracia (or the DGs as we call them). They were missionaries on furlough and were about to start a new mission in the Philippines, Sam’s home country. At first this had nothing to do with us except that we would pray and befriend them while they were here in the United States. Quickly though it became apparent that God had more in His plans. Our families became family with each other and “did life together”.
Late Spring 2017 we knew for certain God was calling us to go to the Philippines and serve alongside Sam and Amy, whatever that would look like. The DGs have now been serving for eight months in Iloilo, Philippines and we are planning on joining them for three weeks in June of 2018..
We are first asking for prayer. Prayer for our family to be faithful to what God is calling us to do. We also want to walk in His strength and not fear about the trip, finances or any other factor. Please join us in praying for God’s will in all of this. Please pray about supporting us on this adventure. We serve a big God and we are so excited and admittedly a little nervous as well about this huge step off faith we are about to take.

- The church the DGs work with is strongly tied to Compassion International. Children and members of an indigenous community who are sponsored through Compassion are required to attend church at certain times. The community that the DGs live/serve in is very poor and there are a lot of children. The last family day at the church over 800 people came. Poverty is everywhere and there are always needs to be met.
- Besides Compassion the church has several other programs to help the people they serve. They include an agri-business training program (organic farming), children’s education programs through extended Sunday School and discipleship/mentorship.
- The DGs also work with people from the Calajunan Dumpsite community. The people from the dumpsite community savage their lives and existence for themselves and their children from the dump.
- Then there are trips that happen almost every two weeks to the mountain tribes and villages with more an agricultural training and medical missions.
